MJ Designs creates interiors for Tampa homes from our St. Petersburg studio across the bay: renovations, kitchens and baths, new construction and fully furnished rooms, with Michelle Jennings leading every project personally. Our portfolio includes three South Tampa homes: in Hyde Park, on Bayshore and in Parkland Estates.
Where we work in Tampa
Our Tampa projects are in South Tampa: Hyde Park, Bayshore and Parkland Estates. Each house has its own architecture and its own light, and we shape every interior to the house as much as to the people who live in it.
Three South Tampa homes
Bayshore centers on a navy kitchen, with shaker cabinetry, a veined stone waterfall peninsula and glazed white tile, and two calm baths in white marble, pale oak and weathered wood. Hyde Park is composed in white, soft grey and black, with linen upholstery, crystal chandeliers and a slate blue bedroom for a moodier retreat. In Parkland Estates, grey velvet sofas gather on a red and navy Persian rug before a painted white brick fireplace, and a bath is wrapped in black and gold blossom wallpaper.
Kitchens, baths and renovations
For a renovation, we lay out a systematic plan through flooring, tile, plumbing fixtures and lighting, design the kitchens, baths, built-ins and custom furniture, and then furnish the finished rooms. Every piece is ordered, tracked and received by the studio, and the furniture is delivered on one day under Michelle's direction, with the art hung and the accessories placed when you come home.
Across the bay, never far away
Our studio is in St. Petersburg, across the bay. A systematic approach and regular status updates keep you informed at every stage, so you are not obliged to visit the job site at every turn. The first conversation is a complimentary discovery call by Zoom, at a time that suits you.
The designer
Michelle Jennings is a design graduate of the University of Florida's College of Architecture and an Allied Member of ASID, with more than 25 years of design experience. She founded MJ Designs in 2004, and the studio has been named Best of Houzz for design in nine years between 2014 and 2023. Her approach is warm minimalism: edited rooms, quality over quantity and a home that is expressive, not excessive. She listens first, and she is honest about what works and what to avoid.
